Hookah parties and bars are everywhere- especially in Greece

Hookah also known as nargileh or kalian bars is a new trend they attract many thousands if not millions of people a day. On a daily basis, you can walk down popular streets in the city centre and see for yourself that there are hookah bars everywhere. People comfortably sit around a hookah and smoke as they have long and fun conversations about life. The music is probably playing very loud and people are either sitting indoors or outdoors enjoying their hookahs. The cigar bars of the past have been definitely replaced with hookah parties where people enjoy nargilethes or shishas they have been filled with different flavors of fruits or legal weed or cannabis. I ask myself this question: is a hookah the new cigar of today? And the answer is probably “no” it’s even bigger than cigars. A lot of people wonder : “What are people smoking when they smoke a hookah?” Well the tobacco that is placed in the hookah is usually made out of glycerin and sugar and mixed with numerous flavors to provide a very amazing smoking experience. My favorite flavor is apple and cinnamon and I smoke it very slowly to enjoy every puff. Usually when you visit hookah bars they have a menu that they give to you with variations of fruit flavors that may sometimes surpass your expectations. There are so many flavors that a lot of times people don’t know what to choose. Hookahs work with heating coals which are placed over a bowl that is filled with plant or fruit matter. Each hookah bowl should not be smoked for more than an hour and it costs about 7 to $20 per bowl of tobacco. In some cases, hookah smoke is cooled with water via a tobacco pipe. The hookah or nargile began in India, Persian Turkey and Egypt where families mostly men smoked as they form strong bonds with each other. The first shisha probably started back in the 16th century when the British Indian company was in India. It basically began with the advancement of glass products that were also used as hookah bongs. Noble men were the first to smoke it showing others that they belonged to a high social status. In the 17th and 18th century Persians and Turks also began to smoke shishah and besides glass shishas , bronze shishas were also introduced. In the 20th century, hookahs began to argile travel around the globe to other countries such as Armenia, Pakistan and Spain. Today, shisha parties, shisha bars and shisha shops have taken over most metropolitan centers where people meet and enjoy a hookah.
